JACK ASHWORTH, VIOL, RECORDER, Louisville, Kentucky
Director of the Early Music Ensemble at the University of Louisville. Has taught on workshop faculties in the US, Canada, England and Australia. A gambist, harpsichordist and recorder player, he is especially active as a continuo accompanist in which capacity he has performed with Wieland Kuijken and Fretwork, among others. Past president of the Viola da Gamba Society of America and received EMA’s Thomas Binkley Award for Outstanding Achievement by a Collegium Director.
JANET BEAZLEY, RECORDERS, FLUTE, San Diego, California
Performs on recorders and flutes with Bach Collegium San Diego, Music Angelica, Concordia Clarimontis, and her own group, Accenti. Holds a Doctorate in Early Music Performance from USC. Director of the Collegium Musicum at UC Riverside, teaches recorder and flute at Claremont Graduate University. Has taught at many West Coast early music workshops, including San Francisco, Hidden Valley, and Port Townsend. Janet also tours, performs, records, and teaches bluegrass music.

Teaches privately and at workshops around the country. Performs with the Farallon Recorder Quartet, the recorder duo Tibia and the Sitka Trio. Directs the Hidden Valley Early Music RoadScholar Program and the San Francisco Early Music Society Music Discovery Workshop for children. Active early music performer since 1992. Has taught and performed in the U. S., Canada, and Europe. Past President of the American Recorder Society.

Teaching and performing degrees from Royal Danish Conservatory. Performs with the Farallon Recorder Quartet and the recorder duo Tibia, and the chamber music group Ensemble Vermillian; published composer for recorder and other instruments and voice from solo to recorder orchestra,; workshop teacher throughout the U.S. Author of The Recorder Player’s Companion; consultant and performer on DiscContinuo series of recordings as well as with Farallon and Vermillian.
JOANNA BLENDULF, VIOL, CELLO, Eugene, Oregon
Soloist and continuo player in leading period instrument ensembles throughout North and South America. Performance degrees with honors from the Cleveland Institute of Music and Indiana University, where she studied with Stanley Ritchie, Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi and Alan Harris. In 1998, she was awarded the prestigious Performer’s Certificate for her accomplishments on baroque cello from Indiana University. Performs with the Portland, Seattle and Indianapolis Baroque Orchestras, Musica Angelica Baroque Orchestra and American Bach Soloists.
VICKI BOECKMAN, RECORDER, WORKSHOP DIRECTOR, Seattle, Washington
International performing and recording artist now based in Seattle. Has taught at workshops all over the United States and in Canada. Director for Portland Recorder Society. Performs with Seattle Baroque Orchestra, Portland Baroque Orchestra, Philharmonia Northwest Orchestra, Gallery Concerts, Medieval Women’s Choir, Ensemble Electra, Wood’N’Flutes and Opus 4. Teaches privately and at the Music Center of the Northwest in Seattle. Recordings for various Danish and American labels.
LOUISE CARSLAKE, RECORDER, BAROQUE FLUTE, Oakland, California
Performances in Europe, China, New Zealand, and across the U.S. Teaches early music ensembles at Mills College and baroque flute at UC Berkeley. Member of Music’s Re-creation, Farallon Recorder Quartet, Magnificat, and Jubilate Orchestra. Has made over ten CD recordings for labels in U.K. and U.S. Co-founder of the Junior Recorder Society in the Bay Area.
CLEA GALHANO, RECORDER, St. Paul, Minnesota
Internationally renowned recorder player. Performs contemporary, early and Brazilian music. Galhano has performed in the United States, Canada, South America and Europe. She is the Executive Artist Director of the St. Paul Conservatory of Music, serves on the faculty of Macalester College, and is the Music Director of the Recorder Orchestra of the Midwest in Bloomington, Indiana. Ms. Galhano has several recordings available on Dorian, Ten Thousand Lakes and Eldorado labels.
SHIRA KAMMEN, VIELLE, Berkeley, California
Performs and teaches medieval, renaissance and traditional music nationally and internationally. Directs a number of ensembles and choruses in the Bay Area and has produced several recordings and books of her own compositions and arrangements. Can be heard on dozens of other recordings and soundtracks for film and video games.

Has performed and recorded with several early music and contemporary music ensembles including Ensemble Alcatraz, Chanticleer, Davka, Hesperion XX, Kitka, Alasdair Fraser’s Skyedance, The Harp Consort and Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra. Has also presented lectures, workshops, and classes in the United States, Canada, Scotland and Israel.
ELLEN SEIBERT, BEGINNING VIOL, Seattle, Washington
Freelance performer with several ensembles in the Northwest where she teaches and coaches viol in Seattle. Serves on the Seattle Recorder Society board and has been a board member of the Viola da Gamba Society of America and twice been a board member of the Early Music Guild of Seattle. Founding member and past president, Pacific Northwest Viols, and Administrator of the Pt Townsend Early Music Workshop from 1997-2001.
PETER SEIBERT, RECORDER & MADRIGAL ENSEMBLES, Seattle, Washington
Active composer who writes for professional musicians as well as for amateurs. His music has been performed on four continents, and his output extends from music for historical instruments to works for chorus (Missa brevis, 2002, and Requiem, 2007) and for modern orchestra (Terpsichore Revisited, 2009). Has taught at early music workshops internationally since 1968, has been music director of the Seattle Recorder Society since 1970, and taught recorder at the University of Washington School of Music from 1971–1991.

Past director of Port Townsend Early Music Workshop, Vancouver Early Music Workshop, and Northwest Center for Early Music Studies. Music director for Northwest Puppet Center, for whom she has arranged and directed The Magic Flute and Don Giovanni, among other productions.

Past president of VdGSA and frequent teacher at workshops throughout the U.S. Distinguished professor of cello and viol at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Performs with Ensemble Chanterelle, Dallas Bach Society, Boston Early Music Festival, Folger Consort, Smithsonian Viols, Concert Royal, Atlanta Baroque and American Bach Soloists.
