More Workshop Details:

Seattle Recorder Society in conjunction with Moss Bay Recorder Society is proud to present a late September weekend workshop on the lovely campus of Seattle Pacific University. Classrooms will conveniently be held in two adjacent buildings - Weter Hall and Demaray Hall, both of which are just off 6th Ave W. and W. Bertona. Weekend parking should not present a problem at the beginning of the school year. Please check the campus map for reference (http://spu.edu/info/maps/index.asp).

Located just minutes from Nickerson Street, the Fremont Cut and the South Ship Canal Trail, the area boasts a plethora of visual and culinary delights, perfect for locals and out-of-towners alike. Members of the Seattle Recorder Society are known for their generous hospitality and we will do all we can to provide housing for out of town participants. Remember to check the required field on the registration form if you need housing, or use the opportunity to get re-acquainted with a relative or friend in the area.
Classes will be from 9:00 am – 4:15 pm on Saturday and Sunday with coffee and lunch breaks. Lunch is not included in the workshop price, so feel free to BYO or purchase in one of the many cafeterias, or walk or drive to any of the local haunts.  On-campus dining locations and hours can be viewed at:http://spu.edu/administration/housing-residence-life/housing/meal-plans/dining-services-locations

A Workshop Kick off Concert will be presented on Friday September 27th, at 7:30 pm at the Queen Anne Christian Church, 1316 3rd Ave W, Seattle, WA 98119. (This concert is not included in workshop price).
Curriculum:

Our splendid faculty is offering a variety of topics that are sure to inspire. Sing about Isaac's Desperate Fortunes, learn about Caccini and the Florentine Camerata, play 14th century Cypriot music, read from original notation, try a bagpipe, and much more!  While the workshop is open to all levels, we are encouraging less experienced intermediate players to sign up as well by offering a series of suitable classes to ensure their learning experience is positive and supportive.
Classes:

Classes will be from 9:00 am – 4:15 pm on Saturday and Sunday.  The first morning's class will be a large group playing and singing session for all, followed by three classes (one in the morning, and two in the afternoon) for which you will indicate your preferences after you register.  See the Classes or Faculty page for a listing of each Faculty member's class topics.  A curriculum gide and link to the online form to fill out you class preferences will be sent to you after receipt of registration and payment.
