Moss Bay Recorder Society

Saturday, March 9, 2:00 – 4:30pm
Kenmore Library, 6531 NE 181st Street, Kenmore, 98028

March is Play the Recorder Month, filled with special events and music! The American Recorder Society has sponsored countless compositions specially designed to delight groups of amateur recorder players. We’ll play selections including Peter Seibert’s 2007 Deep Blue Sea (which prompted a VERY memorable ferry ride for many players and passengers!), Will Ayton’s 2012 Porque Llorax, and Gary Gazlay’s 2015 Excellentia. The pieces feature gorgeous melodies, delightful rhythms, and a lot of fun. We’ll end with a Fantasia or two: 2017’s Fantasia on a Shape Note Hymn by Eric Haas and 2019’s Fantasia on Faithless Nancy Dawson by Phil Neuman.  Contact Laura Townsend at beginbaroque@gmail.com with any questions or to request a printed packet of music to be brought to the meeting. More information on the Moss Bay Recorder Society website.
