For sale by Philip Dickey – A consort of five Renaissance recorders made by David Ohannesian

The instruments include soprano in C, alto in G, alto in F, tenor in C and basset in F. Pitch is A 440. They were made in 1987-1988 and used extensively between 1988 and 2008. They have been examined this year by the maker, who made minor adjustments and feels that they are all in excellent condition and should be “concert ready” for years to come. (Please see photographs). These are professional-quality instruments.

I prefer to sell the instruments as a set rather than individually because they are voiced to play together. The asking price is $8500, which is midway between what I paid in 1988 and the current price for a new consort by the same maker today ($13,320). Included at no extra cost is a case capable of holding all of the instruments together plus a stand that can be used for storage or in a concert (see photos). Note that the bass is directly blown, without a bocal.
