With the first playing session of our new season, Seattle Recorder Society is moving to Faith Lutheran Church, located just off Lake City Way at 8208 18th Ave NE, Seattle, WA 98115.

It is bittersweet to be leaving Maple Leaf Lutheran Church after they have so graciously hosted us for 40 years. However, now that we have safely resumed our in-person meetings, we need a space where we can comfortably play together with more than 20 players while still distancing ourselves. Additionally, we are eager for members to take advantage of our lending library, which has been stored in Hanan Bell’s garage since March of 2020 and can now be un-earthed!

The rooms we have designated for the large group and the “back room gang” are spacious with good lighting, plenty of room for distancing, restrooms nearby, an elevator, and a strong internet signal for conducting hybrid meetings. There is ample parking either in the westernmost parking lot on 18th Ave NE, or on the side streets surrounding the church.

Alley entrance on 82nd St.

The two rooms where our meetings will be held are in the downstairs basement area. The closest access to that entrance is through the alley on 82nd Street between18th and 19th Avenues, which is especially convenient if you’re schlepping large instruments like great basses and contra basses. There is a sign that says Wedgwood Cooperative School to help you orient, but please note that there are only three marked parking spots in the alley near that door.

To alleviate confusion or frustration on our first meeting, please take a few moments to do a Google map search using their “street view” feature. This will help familiarize you with the area. Here is a Google link to get you started: Faith Lutheran Church on Google Maps
