Hello everyone,

It’s hard to believe that we’ve reached the end of our season, but here we are, and time has flown yet again. April’s meeting was so inspiring – literally brimming with energy and enthusiasm – thank you all for making our last playing session such a success. I am filled with gratitude and constantly reminded what a wonderful community this is.

As our season comes to a close, I’d like to extend huge thanks to all the board members behind the scenes who help make this wonderful organization run smoothly, it is because of you that we continue to be successful after all these years. Thank you to our current president Dave, who will be handing the baton over to Nancy, and to Linet who is our next president-elect. Thank you everyone who helps move tables and chairs at our meetings. Thank you Mike, Virginia and Ellis for all the hours that go into getting the newsletter and website out to the masses and keeping the membership lists up to date. Thank you Hanan for years of housing all the library bins, and now for checking and organizing them in our new venue. Thank you Evy for the incredible notes you take at our board meetings and for your Da Capo write-ups. Thank you Richard for your generosity and support and for expertly balancing our budget. Thank you Laura for making sure our backroom gang is supported and nurtured. Thank you Molly and Charles for keeping us on track with our bylaws or anything else that we need reminding of from days of yore. If I’ve forgotten anyone, please know that you are thanked and appreciated.

And thank you all, dear members, for your support and dedication throughout the year. It is a pleasure to stand before you and be your music director regardless of if you are on the Zoom screen or on site in person. Please let me know if you have any special requests for music or guest conductors for next season.

And now – drum roll please – Member’s Night is all about YOU and I’m so looking forward to it! It is truly one of my favorite local recorder happenings. The creativity that goes into the choices of what you’re sharing is always inspiring and heartwarming. I love hearing established ensembles return and I especially love the courage of all those who step out of their comfort zone to perform in front of others. We will have a camera and mic set up for those who want to join us on Zoom, but we will not be recording the event.

May and June are abundant with concerts and this newsletter is abundant with news. Please give yourselves time to peruse all the pages. See you on May 3!
